I did exactly that and turned it into a Halloween haunted house decoupage craft with dollar store napkins- they did not disappoint! This goes to show how many options you have available for this fun craft. We asked holiday experts to suggest a timeline for putting up your pumpkins, ghosts, and other favorite fall decorations. It’s always sad to see the end of summer, but man, do I love fall! I love the weather, activities, smells, tastes and decorations. I especially love decorating my house for Halloween.

Cast a spell over your entire neighborhood with these outdoor Halloween decorations, which are designed for front porches, backyards, sidewalks, and driveways. Make the most of your wedding's date with one or more of these seasonal ideas. You have some really good articles and I think I would be a good asset. We design, write, illustrate, letter, play, sing, invent, or sometimes just sit around and muse. We are Hallmarkers, dreaming up good stuff for one of the largest creative communities in the country.

The holidays are a time for everyone to gather 'round and appreciate the simple beauty of being together. And what better way to do so than by starting a new tradition? We think making Christmas crafts as a group is a great way to enhance holiday cheer. All of these projects are simple enough for any beginner crafter to try, which makes them fun for loved ones of all ages. Turn a set of stockings into an advent calendar with special treats as you count down to Christmas.

As you look through the images below, you’ll see how the cards inspired us—and also that decoupage is still an awesome way to create fun Halloween home décor. Start by cutting banana-shaped pieces from your pages. If you have a larger pumpkin, cut half a banana out of one sheet and the other half out of another, so you have enough to cover the length of your pumpkin. I used a pencil to lightly trace the curve of the pumpkin before cutting.

From handmade pieces to vintage treasures ready to be loved again, Etsy is the global marketplace for unique and creative goods. It’s also home to a whole host of one-of-a-kind items made with love and extraordinary care. While many of the items on Etsy are handmade, you’ll also find craft supplies, digital items, and more. Halloween haunted house crafts are so much fun- for everyone! You can make them as scary as you want or as low-key as you want (especially if you have little ones that may not be ready for the “spookiness” just yet). Use our templates and clip-art to decorate pumpkins, treat bags, hanging lanterns, and party pails—all in seasonal style.
For the orange pumpkin tall candle holder, I measured the circumference of the glass and created an orange rectangle in a drawing program. I then used this Halloween borders font to add the pumpkin and vines, then simply printed it out and decoupaged it onto the glass. I don’t recommend this if you only have an ink jet printer unless you test it first to make sure your ink won’t bleed all over the place.

My boys love to go and pick a pumpkin and we then carve it together. It’s just a fun time for all. Die cut a flourish and apply with Mod Podge under the words.

If you’ve used a craft pumpkin instead of a real one, you could cover it in a thin layer of Mod Podge at this point to keep it protected so you can use it again next year. I didn’t Mod Podge over my real pumpkin. On Halloween, welcome trick-or-treaters in hair-raising style by turning your front porch into a bat cave. Best of all, these high-impact paper decorations are simple to make with our printable template. Perfect for Halloween, our five-fingered candleholders and tabletop decorations bring a spooky addition to an entryway station, tablescape, or mantel. These DIY creations are made of plaster and get a ghoulish gray cast from a brush dipped in black gouache.
You can apply tissue paper, napkins, wallpapers, book pages and a lot of other stuff on them using Mod Podge. Check out these examples and tutorials and don’t hesitate try something like them by yourself. I had the plan to paint with green, and then paint over it with black and use glue to give it the crackle effect, but I didn’t have any more glue! But you know that if you’re a crafter, you don’t fret- you simply find another way to be crafty.

Old toys gain new life when they are repurposed into tree ornaments. For a quick craft that's also sweet, candy canes easily transform into the tails of festive mice party favors. Most of these crafts take mere minutes or less to complete, which means you can deck the halls and make things merry in speedy fashion. Be sure to relish this time, though—it isn't every day that you get to make something beautiful with the people you love most. Pumpkins are usual part of Fall and Halloween decor. They are cute by themselves but you can make them even more cute with decoupage techniques.
Every year I like to add fun new twists. This year, my addition will be a collection of decoupage plates. I know you may be thinking, “Really, decoupage plates? I invited 10 Hallmarkers to join me in a decoupage workshop, and the results were amazing. Once we had finished putting the decoupage paper on, I made a mini witches hat out of black card and stuck that to the letter ‘B’ with a little blu tack. We then stuck our decoupage paper to the paper mache letters.
Print starburst templates for colored accents. Stack up to 12 pieces of tissue paper and secure with binder clips as shown, inset, top right. Trace template onto top layer. Cut through all layers, moving clips as necessary to hold in place. Kids Activities, Wendy loves creating crafts, activities and printables that help teachers educate and give parents creative ways to spend time with their children.
Brush découpage medium onto pumpkin or other item. Smooth clip art into place, slipping starbursts under clip art as you go where you want to add them to design. Brush paper and area around it with another coat of découpage medium.
I used a little sponge to get the creases and air bubbles out of the paper and then left to dry. Once dry I cut the excess decoupage paper off with my craft knife. Step 1A – figure out what you are going to decoupage – it can be glass, plastic, wood, metal – practically anything. It can be jewelry, kids crafts, or even home decor. You can also add pieces of ribbon, sequins, and pretty much anything that can be glued to a surface.
